From September 26-28, Troop 680 went camping at Sandy Spring adventure park in Sandy Spring, Maryland. There, the Scouts participated in a ropes and zipline course experience. in the aerial forest There were a range of difficulties and types of courses that Scouts could undertake. On this adventure, the Troop 680 Scouts were joined by a couple of AOL Scouts from Pack 680 who we hope will join Troop 680 in the spring when they are ready to crossover from Cub Scouts. After the aerial courses and a hearty lunch, Scouts divided into two teams and had a blast throwing axes at targets, where there was a crushing victory on a certain side. After a long day, Scouts had a little trouble packing up in the evening, before heading home the next day for some much earned and needed rest.
Troop 680 will once again be selling holiday wreaths and evergreen products to support Troop activities and defray the costs of Scouting for Troop families. All wreath and evergreen products are supplied by Mickman Brothers in Minnesota and there are two options for purchasing: online and in-person.
Online orders may be placed directly with Mickman Brothers through Mickman’s proprietary website GiftitForward.com, and Troop 680 receives a flat $8 commission on every wreath or evergreen product sold through the website. To access the website click on the wreath image to the left or on the preceding link, and Troop 680’s fundraising code will be applied automatically. In the event the code is not applied automatically, you may enter it when asked. The code is “TR680VA001”. Prices online are higher than in-person because the price include FedEX delivery within the 48 contiguous states, an EZ hanger for each wreath and door spray ordered, an LED light set, and the cost of planting an evergreen sapling for sustainability. There are also some additional product offerings online.
Wreaths will also be sold at Good Shepherd Catholic Church the weekends of November 29 and 30 and December 6 and 7. Prices for the in-person sales are provided here.
