Summer Camp at Summit Bechtel Reserve

(June 28 - July 4)

This year, troop 680 returned to the Summit Bechtel Reserve for summer camp after visiting Ockanickon Scout Reservation  last year.  Troop 680 had a fun and successful time at the Summit.   The Troop earned a lot of Merit Badges and did a lot of activities. Troop 680 also received the Honor Troop award and every single shooting award that Summit had to offer.  The Scouts had a lot of fun doing their Merit Badges on Monday-Thursday and fun doing other activities on Friday.   The newest Scouts in the Troop also participated in a new Scout program (called Brownsea Island) every morning except Friday.  On Friday. some of the Scouts did the Big Zip, some did whitewater rafting, some did shooting sports activities , some did other random activities, and some sat and hung out around camp.   Many Scouts also did a lot of whittling while sitting around our campsite.  We also built an evening  campfire on Wednesday in our campsite and invited one of the other Troops over to enjoy the campfire.  Overall Troop 680 had a very good time at Summit and got a lot of Merit Badges.

• • September 13 - Regular Troop Meeting at 5:00 PM at Northrop Hall - Art Themed Meeting

  • September 20 - PLC Meeting.  We are in the process of confirming whether the meeting will be in person or Zoom and whether it will be at the regular Troop meeting time (5:00 PM) or earlier in the day due to some participant conflicts.  We will update shortly.

  • September 27 - Fall Court of Honor at Good Shepherd at 5:00 PM.  Award recognition information has been circulated by email.  It is your responsibility to check and make sure it is accurate with respect to yourself.  (Patrol food assignments are to the  right)

  • October 4 - Regular Troop Meeting at Good Shepherd at 5:00 PM.   Preparing for the spooky backpacking trip November 7-8.

  • October 11 - Time Change:  Regular Troop Meeting at Good Shepherd at 4:30  PM.  The Troop will be performing a service project (invasive  plant removal and related work) with Care for Creation.

• October 16-18 - Accotink Bay District Fall Camporee

• November 7-8 -  Introduction to Backpacking / Spooky Backpacking Trip along the Appalachian Trail

• December 5-6 - Overnight Adventure on the USS Torsk.  Please note, space is limited because we are doing this as an overnight experience with the Pack 680 AOLs
