(1) Notes from the Colonial District Round Table meeting November 8, 2006

Thank you to Tom Schulte who attended and took notes.
Each troop should fill out the 2007 Centennial Quality Unit Award Commitment (will give form to Scoutmaster Wade Harvey or Committee Chair John Higbee). Due 02/15/2007. More details at http://www.boyscouts-ncac.org/pages/48469_centennial_quality_award.cfm.
Merit Badge Jamboree (Feb. 17, 2007) forms were distributed; these forms are all on our web site under "Merit Badge Information," specifically see http://troop680.net/MBJ-Info-Sheet-2007.doc and six other documents. Julie Schymanski has already begun distributing packets. Info is due back at the December 13 Roundtable Meeting at 8:00 p.m.
Troops are invited to bring a "brag board" and a few Scouts to the December 13 Roundtable for the "Scout Expo" (12/13/2007, 6:30pm-7:30pm) which is a recruiting effort aimed at Webelos and other boys aged 11-17. Mary Martin is coordinating this effort for Troop 680. District contact is Kelly O'Neill at koneill@boyscouts-ncac.org or 703-945-8618.
CPR is now run by Red Cross. Minimum age is 16 years. Cost is $165 for the course; $140 is refunded after completion. Web site: www.redcrossnca.org.
High adventure info/film presented; I will give handouts to Wade Harvey.
All are requested to keep their training up to date.

All registered Scouters are encouraged to complete Adult Leader training, to earn the Leader's Training Award and to earn Wood Badge beads.

Wood Badge Training Course -- "the top adult leader training program in the Scouting program. It is a program of leadership and Scoutcraft skills training, which when completed, provides exposure ot all the skills necessary to run an outstanding Scout program."

The "Eagle Procedures Guide" is for the adult leaders who are working with Life Scouts working to earn their Eagle rank. Unit leaders should share the contents of this guide with each Eagle candidate so that he fully understands the procedures which must be followed. The purpose of this guide is to address commonly asked questions and issues encountered in completing the "12 Steps From Life to Eagle Rank." It is not intended to answer all questions. If a unit leader or an Eagle candidate is unsure of a particular step or requirement, do not hesitate to call your District Advancement Chairman. The guide describes the 12 steps from Life to Eagle. The "Eagle Procedures Guide" has been updated and can be downloaded [as described above]. Please note that this is a large file (1.03 MB) that may take a few minutes to download.
