(1) Notes from the Colonial District Round Table meeting April 12, 2006 by Dominick Caridi

Attached are the documents we distributed at the April BSRT ... the “Getting Ready for Summer Camp” presentation.
I want to thank Tony Moller for his presentation on “Getting Ready for Summer Camp” – good job Tony!
I want to thank Walt Munyan for stepping up to the plate to deliver our May topic “Games at the Troop Meeting.
Remember, our June Boy Scout Round Table (BSRT) will be a giant cooking demo. The following Troops have already signed up: 131, 993, 601, 113, 888, 135, 680, 1107, 1515, and 1509. Sign up will continue at the May BSRT. Requirements: You provide food for 8 to 10 and your own heat source, as well as cooking gear (if you are going to use charcoal, you’ll need to provide a surface to protect the ground). I will provide small paper cups, plastic spoons and paper towels.
Finally, I want to reiterate the fact that I will be stepping down as BSRT Commissioner and seeking a replacement. If you’re interested in the position and want to find out more contact me (dscaridi@aol.com) or Ray Garant (r_garant@acs.org).
Once again I want to emphatically state how wonderful it has been to work with such a great bunch of Scouters; it has been my privilege to serve you.

(2) Troop 680 Adult Leader Training:

Congratulations to the following Troop 680 Scouters (adults) who have completed and were awarded the Boy Scout Adult Leader Training Certificate of Completion and "Trained" patch:

Norbert Fortier
Doug Luzik (correct?)
Chris Robertson
Julie Schymanski

All registered Scouters are encouraged to complete Adult Leader training, to earn the Leader's Training Award and to earn Wood Badge beads. The following information was included with the certificates and "Trained" patches:

Boy Scout Leader's Training Award progress record; and
Wood Badge Training Course -- "the top adult leader training program in the Scouting program. It is a program of leadership and Scoutcraft skills training, which when completed, provides exposure ot all the skills necessary to run an outstanding Scout program."

(3) General information from John Millikin:

Thank you to several from Troop 680 who engineered our rechartering including: Tom Schulte--Registration; Chris McCormack--Database; John Higbee--Committee Chair; Dick Bowman--Unit Commissioner; Wade Harvey--Scoutmaster; Others--let me know--I believe these five were the key Scouters for our troop in this significant effort. Thank you, all!

The "Eagle Procedures Guide" is for the adult leaders who are working with Life Scouts working to earn their Eagle rank. Unit leaders should share the contents of this guide with each Eagle candidate so that he fully understands the procedures which must be followed. The purpose of this guide is to address commonly asked questions and issues encountered in completing the "12 Steps From Life to Eagle Rank." It is not intended to answer all questions. If a unit leader or an Eagle candidate is unsure of a particular step or requirement, do not hesitate to call your District Advancement Chairman. The guide describes the 12 steps from Life to Eagle. The "Eagle Procedures Guide" has been updated and can be downloaded [as described above]. Please note that this is a large file (1.03 MB) that may take a few minutes to download.
