Hi -- here are my notes from the Colonial District Round Table meeting May 11, 2005:

• This meeting was a "Program Launch"
• The main topic was the troop planning process, and the annual troop planning meeting in particular
• Our Troop 680 annual planning meeting is scheduled for Saturday August 13, 2005
• There were several handouts related to various troop activities
• CD with calendar, forms, and various other useful information and files.  If you would like a copy of the CD, let me know (mailto:John.Millikin@gallaudet.edu)
• 2005-2006 Boy Scout Leader Program Notebook (1 for SPL; 1 extra)
• 2005 Program Launch ribbon for our flag
• 2 year calendar of events June 2005 to May 2007 for NCAC (council) and Colonial District
• Camp Snyder weekend camping flier (can camp there now) and "Application for Council Facilities and Equipment Use" form
• Camp Snyder Grand Opening flyer (May 6, 2006)
• Various commercial activities: Gadsby's Tavern; Timberline, Roundtop and Liberty Skiing; Kings Dominion; Whitewater Challenges (White Haven, PA); Ropes course at Roundtop; Ducks Unlimited in Centerville, VA (they have Skeet/Shotgun and Rifle (.22) shooting and instruction
• Training
• Larry Creech needs district-level trainers.
• Powderhorn Training for senior Scout activities
• May 25-27 and September 8-10 at Camp St. Charles
• Cost is $275

• Religious awards program training is on page 9 of the April 2005 Crier found at the NCAC web site, Colonial District.
• Awards/Recognition dinner is May 25, 2005 at Aldersgate Church. Any nominations to Jeff by April 26 at the absolute latest; mailto:jschweig@ix.netcom.com
• 30 Units had rechartered as of 4/13/05; that is about half of the units
• Unit commissioners are still needed; contact Tom Libby if interested.
• Program launch for Colonial District is May 11 at the Roundtable meeting.  "Program Launch" provides resources, activites and calendar information for the coming year to eighteen months. For example, the district camporees will be listed so troops can note and plan for these activities.
• A worksheet for Colonial district long term summer camp programs was distributed by Scott Hammell; it listed many of the summer camps attended during 2004.
• Speech Contest
• Voices of our youth, sponsored by NCAC. Savings bonds offered for top Cub Scout, Boy Scout/Venturer and Explorer for first place ($500 bond), second place ($250 bond) and third place ($100 bond), i.e., nine prizes.
• Deadline to register April 1, 2005
• Contest at Marriott Scout Service Center, 4/30/2005 at 10:00 a.m.
• Speech 3-5 minutes

• I will have camporee vehicle access information, site diagram, and driver unit ID card to hand out April 19; Kerry McCabe and I are both working on getting electronic versions of this information.
