Boy Scout Adult Leader Training, Part
I Thursday March 10, 7-9:30pm (past) and Part II Saturday March 12; 8am-4:30pm,
location U.S. Coast Guard Station HQ Building off Telegraph Road.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills,
Friday-Saturday March 25-26 campout completed by 4:00 p.m. Saturday, at

Parents of bridging Webelos II Scouts
interested in serving as adult troop leaders should attend this training
(one or, even better, both courses).

Colonial District Spring Camporee is
April 22-24 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia (this will include the Webelos II
Scouts who bridge to Troop 680 in March). I have the complete handouts
for Scoutmaster and a few others that I will distribute March 15.

March 15 is set for Troop-wide elections
and for Order of the Arrow elections (OA elections to be confirmed March
15; postponed due to Fairfax County closing p.m. activities March 8, our

Colonial District has a Venturing Scuba
Crew (#301) that offers an aggesssive program os scuba training, dive trips,
local dives and a Superevent each year for older Scouts, ages 14 and up;
girls are welcome also. They have a Discover Scuba event (try Scuba under
instructor supervision) on March 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Lee District Park pool--by
reservation only. Questions to Advisor Bob L'Heureux, 703-971-3039.

Rechartering turn-ins will occur at
First Christian Church on Saturdday March 19 10am-1pm and Wednesday March
23 (presume same time). At turn in, get the rechartering packet signed,
make registration and insurance payments.

Program Launch is no longer at the Council
Level. Colonial District program launch occurs at the May 11 Roundtable.
Program Launch provides district and council calendar events for the next
12-18 months.

Rechartering is being worked on by John
Higbee (Committee Chair) and Tom Schulte (Registration). This rechartering
will be electronic. They (John Higbee and Tom Schulte) picked up all the
materials including information/directions for electronic rechartering.
For Pack 680, Bob Keegan and Paul Mule picked up rechartering materials.
Ray Garant gave a short powerpoint demo covering some of the electronic
rechartering info. All rechartering materials go through the Unit
Commissioner, Dick Bowman. Roundtable contact was Ray Garant.

Next month's roundtable, March 9, will
include a session about Eagle Scout Projects; this should be of interest
to all Life Scouts, especially those working on or planning an Eagle project.
Scouts are invited and encouraged to attend. Contact John Millikin if you
