All -- I attended the May 12 Roundtable:
-
Colonial District recognition dinner is Wed. May 26, 2004 730-930pm at
Aldersgate United Methodist Church, cost $10, new Eagle Scouts guests of
the District. Dave Purol is coordinating for Larry Pierce as I understand
it. I have forms if needed. For more info, contact Larry Creech
at 703-719-7763, mailto:larry.w.crech@verizon.net.
-
There is still a separate recognition dinner for Eagle Scouts that pairs
the Scout with a mentor; that occurs annually and is separate from the
Colonial District Recognition dinner to which Eagle Scouts are invited
as District Guests.
-
Next Roundtable (for BSA) on Wednesday June 9 to feature Cracker Barrell
desserts -- contact Scott Hammell to volunteer to bring a dessert, mailto:hammell.sa@horizon.net
or mailto:scott.hammell@ngc.com.
-
I provided dates T680 will attend Resica Falls summer camp as Scott is
collecting that for our district so that if a Scout is on vacation during
his troop summer camp, he could attend one of the others--I presume Scott
will disseminate that info via email or at the next Roundtable, Wednesday
June 9.
-
Rechartering info (completed info from District and NCAC) available and
distributed in July 2004 via commissioners; and/or available at August
11 Roundtable.
-
Picked up NCAC paper calendar--if anyone wants it, let me know at the next
Scout meeting. That info is also on the CD I got (from the April 17 program
launch) and copied and gave to Wade and Assistant Scoutmasters.
-
Picked up a CD from BSA OA Northeast Region titled Directory of Council
Camps and Outdoor Facilities which I will give to Kerry McCabe;
if someone else wants a copy, perhaps Kerry could duplicate? This lists
just what it says--lots of camping/outdoor areas with lots of detailed
info.
-
Picked up one "Boys' Life Boy Scout Leader Program Notebook" which I suggest
I give to newly elected SPL who can decide if we should get them for ASPLs
and all Patrol Leaders. It's a calendar and planning guide or tool
they can use.

Colonial District conducts New Leader Essentials (NLE) and Youth Protection
Training (YPT) Saturday May 15 at First Christian Church on King Street
in Alexandria. Registration at 8:00 am, NLE course 830, YPT course 1030,
all completed by noon. This is basic intro to the Scouting program for
ALL new adult leaders in ALL phases of Scouting. NLE is the prerequisite
to "position specific training" for all uniformed leaders. No charge. Bring
your own coffee/donut. Contact Dave Stewart at mailto:dstew76798@aol.com
or 703-461-7233.

If interested in helping out with District Training team, I have a form
you can fill out. I will have it at the next T680 meeting.
Larry or Wade -- I suggest and ask that you forward this to the entire
troop email list.
That's it for now. Thanks.
