First Aid Kit Information

Many scouts need to make a personal first aid kit to full-fill rank requirements; see page 289 of the Scout Handbook. Two items on the list may be difficult to find, namely, the Mouth-Barrier device (Micro Shield) for rescue breathing or CPR, and Moleskin.

The Micro Shield can be found for $3.00 at In Home Medical Supply, 6911 Richmond Hwy Suite #222, Alexandria, Virginia; they are located about 2 blocks from Beacon Mall near the turn to go to St. Louis. Their number is 703-768-4440. The moleskin was found at CVS in the foot support department near the corn remover.
